Namajunas was born the 29th of June 1993 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to a Lithuanian immigrants family. Growing up, Rose was involved in sports such as basketball and kickboxing. At 18 years old she had her first professional fight at Invicta Fighting Championships where she fought two times via submission. Dana White took notice of her performance and had her signed to UFC's strawweight category in the month of December, 2014 when Rose was only 22. The career of Rose has been full of both lows and highs and she's able to come out of her fights with a win. Rose took on Carla Esparza on April 15 in 2015 for the Women s Strawweight Championship. Rose beat Esparza with a technical knockout in less than three minutes of Round One. Rose not only won the championship but was recognized as Fighter Of The Night. Rose also made MMA history with this match because she became the first female to fight to win the title of champion within any major organization. After this win, Namajunas went onto have several other victories in which she defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk twice which earned her Performance Of The Night honors from UFC in the wake of these wins .
